The quality of the artistic work of Sues Stoisser is characterized by her plastic, graphical, as well as three-dimensional skills, together with her sensitive approach towards questions about space, material, philosophical issues and phenomena of perception. By arranging layers of materials of transparent, specular and opaque nature she creates diverging profiles, and different qualities of space within an object. The surrounding environment is incorporated to pursue these ideas.
Fragmentary images are created in collage technique and in various layers and produce fascinating impressions of presence and absence, reality and imagination.
These space images which appear on two-dimensional surfaces also materialize as sculptures leading to a new story and sensibilizing our perception.
Space is experienced by the movement of the spectator, enhanced by the materiality of the object’s transparency and reflections.
Suse Stoisser’s oeuvre stands out through its intellectual challenges and its consistent translation into formal expression.
